James F. Pedersen Co., Inc. was founded in 1959 by James “Fred” Frederick Pedersen and Helen Baldwin Pedersen. Fred began the company after leaving his job at the Navy Yard as a pipefitter, determined to build something of his own through hard work and dedication. Working from their backyard in the evenings, Fred handled the plumbing work while Helen managed the bookkeeping and payroll, all while raising their family.

The next generation continued to grow the company through commercial plumbing, boiler systems, schools, hospitals, and hotel projects. James “Pete” Pedersen, Jr. recognized the changing construction market and expanded the company’s services into plumbing and utility infrastructure, building a reputation for exceptional workmanship and quality.

James “Jim” Pedersen, III later helped lead the company’s transition into underground utility construction, growing the business into the dependable utility contractor it is today. Built on family values, hard work, and integrity, James F. Pedersen Co., Inc. continues to serve the Tri-County area with a commitment to quality, reliability, and lasting relationships.
